about matt
photography is my passion.
I am a self taught (and still learning), Landscape and Portrait Photographer in New England and a recent graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor’s in Communication. What I love about photography is being able to tell stories through photos and sharing moments with those who also have an appreciation for story telling and photography.
If you see me around, say hi. I always enjoy meeting new people!
Some tips if your are thinking about getting into photography:
1. Take pictures of everything. All the time. This will help you explore the world of photography, find your "theme" or whatever you prefer to shoot, and will help you make sure you got the shot. It will be great practice so that you won't have to take as many pictures to get it right.
2. You don't need fancy or expensive equipment to be a photographer. I started shooting on my iPhone 4 back in 2012. Use what you have and know that what really matters is how you see the world. Your eye is your most valuable and useful tool. Your camera couldn't capture it if your eye didn't see it first.
3. Share. Share. Share. Whether you are into photography as a hobby, just doing it for yourself, or looking to make it your profession, share your work. Start an Instagram, a VSCO, or any other social media gallery and post frequently. One thing I've learned is that everyone is looking for a new view of the same world, and you can find that through what people share. And if you do, LET ME KNOW! I'll gladly be your first follower!
